Frequently Asked Questions

1) What do I need to bring to camp?

  • running shoes and running attire
  • water or sports drink
  • a nonperishable lunch labeled with camper's name
  • swimsuit, towel
  • sun block and/or insect repellent
  • flip flops or suitable footwear for pool (optional)
  • running watch (optional)
  • hat for sun protection (optional)
  • an extra t-shirt or clothes for changing after run (optional)
The staff does not recommend bringing valuables to camp. Our access to secure areas is limited, and we cannot guarantee that items might not be lost or stolen.

2) Do you provide drinks or a place to keep lunches?

We will provide a cooler with ice to help keep lunches cool, and we will have extra water available to be sure everyone is adequately hydrated.

3) What if my child uses an epipen or an inhaler?

No problem, as long as they accompany your child to camp each day. Please note this medication use when registering and speak to camp staff about it on the first day of camp.

4) Where is drop-off / pick-up for track camp?

Drop -off: 8:45 to 9:00 AM at Jack Mayes track, Alumni Field, Keene High School.
Pick-up: 2:45 - 3:00 PM, horseshoe pavilion, Wheelock Park (back of park by tennis courts).

Cross Country Camp Only:

1) Where is the overnight camp out on Thursday night?

The overnight will be at Storr’s Pond camping area in Hanover. For more information on this beautiful camping area and its pool, basketball courts, beach and beautiful and rugged trails, go to their website:

2) What equipment should I bring for the camp out?

  • Sleeping bag, pad for under sleeping bag (optional)
  • Shorts, pants, short and long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, shoes, socks, underwear, light jacket. Campers will want a change of clothes for Thursday evening and Friday. We plan to run and swim both days, and dry, clean clothes will be needed afterward on both days.
  • Flashlight and water bottle, both marked with name on them
  • Insect repellant, toilet paper (just in case!)
  • Backpack for all of these items
Please let us know in advance if your child will need extra assistance or any special accomodations for the overnight, especially regarding special food or any medical conditions.

3) How should my child prepare for camp?

To get the most out of camp, we recommend that all runners come with some running preparation. Many of you will be training for the upcoming fall season, but for those who are not, we strongly recommend running four or more times a week, for a minimum of two miles, for two weeks prior to camp. This should allow you to participate in all of our daily runs and activities without any difficulty.

4) Where is drop-off and pick-up?

Drop off at Keene’s Wheelock Park (the rear of the park near the tennis courts and horseshoe pavilion) from 7:45 – 8:00 AM; pick up at 1:45 – 2:00 PM in the same place.
